If the connection fails, there might be a problem with the communications on your local network that your firewall blocks the connection. Check these steps first
Start QS License console and switch to Settings tab. Make a note of the IP address and port. Make sure that the server is running.
Press Stop [ QS License Server ], then press [ Start QS License Server ].
On the WORKSTATION machine, press windows key and type cmd. Press Enter. In the command prompt type 'telnet 192.168.1.83 1971' (note, the IP address must be the number we described in the previos section.
If you do not get error, connection is working correctly. If there is an error, you need to allow the firewall on the SERVER to allow connections to this port.
To allow access to your computer on a specific port in Windows 11, create a new Inbound Rule in the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security. Navigate to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Tools > Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced Settings, choose "Inbound Rules," select "New Rule," and specify the port number (e.g., 80, 8080)
Give a name to this connection and accept.
On the WORKSTATION machine, press Activate and select the network option.
